The journeys of my head and heart.
What a great idea!My husband and I met through country line dancing. There was place in town that had country music on Friday nights until midnight and people went there for country line dancing. We met during a mixer dance.Engaged. Well, my husband asked me about 8 times to marry him, but never in a down on the knee give me an answer full blown proposal. One day I just said I would marry him. What was special about our engagement was that we picked out each stone in my engagement ring together with a microscope and everything. We went to a real live jewelers who taught us about diamonds and we, over the course of several weeks, picked out each stone. My ring now has exceptional meaning to me. Every additional ring my husband has ever bought me he has chosen each stone himself.
Thank you for sharing your story. What a lovely way to pick out your ring, and share the experience. How wonderful your husband still puts so much love into picking out the jewelry he gives to you!
Dave and I met through work. Though we didn't work for the same company nor in the same building. His company happened to be a client of my company. We met several time through work parties, and spoke often on the phone. One day I was sent to pay his office a visit to make sure an event went smoothly. He and I hit it off. We kept our courtship a secret with his and my company for quite a while. Then as we got more serious, we brought it out. The guys in my office would tease that I really knew how to treat a client. LOL We were together a year when I got pregnant, then one evening after our son was born, we were out on a "date night", we were at the exact same place as our very first date. He got down on one knee and proposed. He actually proposed in the same spot we had our first kiss.
That proposal story generated a long, smiling, "Awww!!" from me. Very sweet. It's neat how work brought you together.
